Healthy Bite Out!
Last night after having a mini high school reunion my bf and I decided to go out to dinner. The closest thing around was Applebee’s I had only gone there like once or twice before and wasn’t sure if they had a lighter menu. However they do! and a pretty big one too! They have a 550 calorie and under menu and a weight watchers menu. They had a good variety too and a lot of the entrees sounded super yummy.
What I got: I got the Roasted Garlic Sirloin.
Description: Garlic Marinated 7 oz. sirloin and sautéed onions are served with herbed potatoes and a grilled portobello mushroom cap filled with creamed spinach topped with Parmesan cheese.
Review: I usually never order steak when I go out but this one has made me one to try more. It was so flavorful, juicy and tender. The seasoning on it was amazing,t my boyfriend who loves steak told me it was one of the best he has had in a restaurant. The onions were under the steak and complimented the bites of steak very well. The potatoes had a great garlicy buttery taste, however there were only a few pieces, which to me was okay. Then there is this huge portabella mushroom cup filled with spinach and cream sauce. This was REALLY good, I love mushrooms and spinach though so I might be biased lol. The sauce was not overpowering but still creamy and cheesy.
Overall: This meal was amazing! I would honestly get this even if I wasn’t watching my calories. I felt really full afterwards and did not at all feel like I was eating “diet food”. I am really looking forward to going back and trying out more of their stuff.
(P.S my boyfriend is giving my food a thumbs up again.. I think he is creating a trend)
Healthy Bite Out!
Today I had lunch at one of my favorite places, Panera Bread. Before heading out I checked out their nutrition facts on their website and used their meal builder. I was so surprised about how high in calories some of their items were! However I think I made some good choices.
What I got: I ordered from the “you pick two” I got a cup of “French Onion Soup” and half of a “Roasted Turkey and Avocado BLT” I also got a bottle of water and an apple as my side choice.
Review: SO GOOD. First off the french onion soup was the perfect combination of cheesy and savory. The roasted turkey and avocado BLT (which is a new item) was amazing. If you like avocado you will love this! They did not skimp on the avocado, which I was afraid off and the turkey had a very good seasoned taste.

Healthy bite out!
This morning I went to Ihop with my boyfriend. They have a new menu of items that are 600 calories. Most of the items on the menu are around 400-500 calories though.
I had the whole wheat pancake combo plate. It included 2 whole wheat pancakes topped with banana scrambled egg beaters and 2 strips of turkey bacon.
The pancakes were awesome!! They were fluffy and tasted just like the regular ones! Plus the bananan on top made them even better.
The scrambled egg beaters was good too. I added a bit of pepper to make them more flavorful.
The turkey bacon strips were nice and crispy and had a very similar taste to regular bacon.
Overall I really enjoyed this meal and would recommend it if you are looking for a healthy option at IHOP.
